Field Notes

Description:

~3-4 cm diameter. They have ragged edges, small pycnidia on the lobes, and an olive to brown coloration. I am not sure what is going on at the center of the one pictured here; perhaps just where the lobes are meeting or maybe a slug chewed at it a bit? Not too sure. Dermatocarpon or possibly Umbilicaria?

Habitat:

Large boulders in a parking lot. The boulders were mostly dominated by the lichen (pictured here: https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/341564670) and some moss.
