Description:
The cropped image shows a white thallus with the contrasting black apothecia.
Habitat:
I found many specimens on on small inconspicuous stand of alder trees (pic 3). The small stand of alders was next to a spring and or creek. The surrounding forest was mostly conifer. Foothills of Cascade Mountains.
