Description:

Growing among several other lichen species on the trunk of this tree. The dark lines are called lirellae, which are the specialized apothecia of script lichens (apothecia are the sexual fruiting bodies of the lichen).

Habitat:

Redbud tree in a suburban yard covered in crustose lichens (see https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/519700184 and https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1791064717)
