Description:

Crustose lichen; verrucose surface; thin margin;: prothallus. Apothecia numerous: lecanorine (plate-shaped with a marginal ring); sessile; 2-3 mm diameter.

Habitat:

Growing on fallen tree branch that was ca. 2.5-2.5cm diameter.

Notes:

Ochrolechia africana is one of the most widely distributed lichens in Georgia (USA)
