Field Notes

Description:

A neat little patch of about 70mm wide. Some 'white' parts still showing; mostly 'yellow' phase; some indication of 'brown' phase to follow.

Habitat:

On the bark of a very large eucalyptus in tall rain forest.

Notes:

This is not a fungus. It should be thought of as a huge single cell. How the nucleii 'talk' to each other is a mystery but they all act together to progress through several phases to produce fruiting bodies...

No mission no category.
