Field Notes
Description:
I always look out for turtles, along the 'Turtle Crossing' areas since their emerging from their hibernation, and coming out to warm up in the sun.
This one was right in the middle of the road, so we pulled over and I picked him/her up to bring him/her to the side of the road( that it appears it was going, )sure enough as I put it down it crawled in to the ditch and swam down the current into the swamp to find a better/safer place to bask.
It was about 45cm ex. Tail which was about 15 cm long.
Habitat:
swamps
Notes:
