Description:

Foliose pale brown to olive-brown large lobes with distinct ridges and pits on the surface. Lungwort is a favrite food of the moose in the northeast. It has been used in the tanning of animal hides, replaced hops with lungwort to make beer and used as a remedy for TB. Overwinters

Habitat:

Grows on trees, mossy rocks and wood in mature woodlands. Found in rich, unpolluted and often Very old forests.
