Description:

This individual is a juvenile beaugregory, which is a damselfish species distributed throughout Florida and the Gulf of Mexico, south to Belize.

Habitat:

Occurs in seagrass beds, coral or rocky reefs and sandy areas. Also found around mangrove shores and sponge beds.

Notes:

Spotted while snorkeling in the Caribbean off of Belize during a Marine Biology course focused on coral reef sampling.
