Field Notes

Description:

Spotted in Cookscomb Wildlife Sanctuary and Jaguar Preserve, just off of Stann Creek in Belize. I was only able to get these few photos of the fruiting body of the tree, as we were briskly making our way through the preserve.

Habitat:

Moist organic soil over limestone in mesic hammocks and disturbed wooded areas. Native to Mexico & Central America; introduced into Florida.
