Field Notes

Description:

My second rough earth this year, but the first at this spot! Only herpetological find of the day, but still really cute. You can't tell from the pictures very well, but this one was in shed, and was very squirmy.

The rough earth snake is a plain-colored snake and is slate-gray on top. The belly is a plain creamish color. This snake has a divided anal plate.

Habitat:

Under a carpeted-type material that was illegally dumped at this specific site. A speckled king snake was found very close-by on another date.
