Field Notes

Description:

A pretty patch of foliose Lichen looking like a minute cluster of water cress. A brilliant olive green with some parts of the thalli showing a shade of yellow.

Habitat:

Spotted growing on a Golden Ash tree amidst crusty grey lichen.

X.parietina is said to prefer bark or wood.

Notes:

This lichen was predominantly green - ? a higher percentage of the algal component (photobiont). I need to research further to confirm species.
