Description:

Tentacle-like lichen. The smaller apothecia are more cup-like, and the more mature ones are more like a disc. The lobes have ridges going down each one. The primary photobiont in this genus is Trebouxia green alga. The photobiont is the photosynthetic partner in the symbiotic relationship that makes up a lichen, the other(s) being a fungus or fungi. The lichen name is taken from the primary fungal partner in the relationship.

Habitat:

Lichen-covered stick. Growing alongside Lecanora and Usnea on this stick.
