Description:

Dark orange lichen, at a glance appearing as crustose, but in fact foliose - the thallus appears formed of tightly packed small leaves.

Habitat:

Growing on the bark of chestnut trees, well exposed to raising sun, in our town park - well wooded; mainly deciduous trees, with some conifers, planted separately and mainly for educative (botanical) or decorative purposes...
