Field Notes

Description:

This Horsehair lichen was a hair-like fruticose lichens, forming a small yellow-green bush-like structure hanging from a support, here a naked old branch of a coniferous tree.

Habitat:

During today's hike we took our lunch break in the snow and under few coniferous trees, and on lower naked branches I spotted several attractive lichens, growing one on top of another... This was on edges of coniferous (spruce and fir) forest, on some 1200m of altitude.

Notes:

According to few pictures I found, this could be Bryoria capillaris.
