Habitat:

Growing on a fallen tree mound along with Sphagnum moss in dense deciduous forest.

Notes:

Spotted at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge north of Egg Lake Trail in Wilderness Area.

I think this might be a 'skin lichen' (Leptogium ??). Check this one which grows in our area embedded in other mosses and lichens. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/9599203
