Field Notes

Description:

Several tiny orange-yellow blobs appeared on the end of a large wet eucalyptus log. I thought they might be fungi at first but after gently toughing one I realised it was a slime mold.

Habitat:

Within a nature reserve incorporating stringybark, acacias, pomaderris, pittosporum, assorted woody shrubs and grasses.
