Field Notes

Description:

This is a many layered fungus or many fungi growing in layers. The coloration was a dark grayish green. The largest was about 26 cm across.

Habitat:

These fungi were found on a tree that would receive morning sun and was located on the edge of the Amazon rainforest in SE Ecuador at an elevation of 3,420 ft.

Notes:

I'm new to fungi but this is the first one I've see that wasn't some shade of white or red.

Wow Machi. I don't know how I missed this. Just browsing my spottings and see this ID suggestion from long ago. Thanks much. It looks right. Unfortunately there are so many species, I may never know, but thanks for taking it this far.
