Field Notes

Description:

A foliose lichen with a upper surface that is white with black specs and the lower surface is black. The light brown cups are the apothecium.

Habitat:

Spotted on lower limb of a ponderosa pine near Roslyn, WA. Forked Tube Lichens are limited to North America's western coastal mountain ranges and the northern Rockies.
