Orange Slime Mold

Hemitrichia calyculata

Great. It's interesting to see they've held the orange color up. And you can tell they are shrinking or drying out as well. With slime molds I always wish I had a decent macro. If you look on flickr some of them are mind-blowing.
Hey Mark, I went back three days ago. I added two pictures to this spotting of what it looked like. It appears that there may be white little spore clumps on it. It's kind of hard to seem because the lighting was very poor.
I think it's possible but the accurate thing might be leaving it as Hemitrichia sp. They change fairly quickly so if you got it a couple of hours later it might look quite different. This one is neat because it has different shades of orange as it develops through the mass. Incredible things - good find.
So do you think it could be Jellis' suggestion?
The stalks become visible when the sporangia have fully matured so it depends what stage you took the shots. You would need to have super macro to see them.
Thanks for the suggestion Jellis, but it appears the Hemitrichia calyculata has a stalk and I didn't see any stalks. These kind of looked like someone put micro gumdrops on a log.
