Rather big spider, almost 10 cm long including the legs. In a forest by the beach.

Not a very pleasant close encounter, WA is very surprising :) I didn't know the male is so much smaller than the female, very interesting... By the way, I am travelling to Hobart this weekend and I hope to see the devils.
I almost walked face-first into one of these in WA. The little spider is the male. He just hangs out on the female's web hoping to get lucky.
