I was walking on a friend's dock just after sunrise and this pair flew in.

I'd say go for it, but I'm far from an authority on the subject
So should I delete the question mark? Thanks for the input.
I'd believe it. Anybody who saw it person and knows enough to consult Sibley's has won my confidence for sure
I've added another photo that shows the blue but no white. I struggled with that distinction myself. The pictures were taken shortly after sunrise and sometimes it's hard to know if I'm getting 'true' clorr. I opted for Mottled partly for the color and partly for the range map in Sibley's guide. Tough call.
On the East coast and with absolutely no white showing I'd say Black Duck is a bit more likely. But it's a very difficult call.
