I am going to add full yellow Bird of Paradise, little different from this spotted by Manilie
Ashish: You're quite right. Bird's of paradise is quite common here with plenty of variation. Some prettier than the other :) Here are the links to my previous capture of this beautiful plant 1. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ramzan/3260593314/in/set-72157613599010346 2. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ramzan/3260591774/in/set-72157613599010346 3. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ramzan/3260585446/in/set-72157613599010346
@Emma, kindly post a picture of a "true" Birds of Paradise, so I'll know the difference. thanks!
@AshishNimkar, many thanks!
The colors are awesome and are exactly like that of a "Bird Of Paradise" However,the flowers which I have at home actually do look like a bird. In my view these are not the Birds Of paradise. Breathtaking !
Ramzan must seen this flower which is originated from East Asia. He is right.
http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2752611060030272744qUoCjU says False Bird of Paradise.
@Ramsan, i also think it is, but then i call everything that looks like this as bird's of paradise:) for the meantime, it'll be it then. thanks!
This is the bird's of paradise isn't?
@AshishNimkar, ok i'll change it, thanks! it looks almost the same, but what do I know? i just take pictures of anything that I like :) what about its common name?
Isabela is right, its "Heliconia aurantiaca" no doubt. I have gone through many pictures of above mentioned 2 species. Beautiful South American originated herb used in florists business today.
@Isabela and AshishNimkar, thanks! I think it's more like Heliconia psittacorum, any suggestion on its common name?
Heliconia psittacorum not Canna
Do you think it could be Heliconia aurantiaca? http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heliconia_aurantiaca
