Field Notes

Description:

Shrublet to 1m with leaves devided into oblong, greyis-green leaflets that are hairless or sparsely hairy. Bears red flowers 25 to 35 mm long with small wing petals hidden within the calyx. The posds are large swollen papery and hairless.

Habitat:

Sandstone and shale flats and slopes throughout southern South Africa.
