Again, poison is ingested and venom is injected. You can drink venom and as long as you have no wounds to allow the venom enter the blood stream, it does not affect you. Completely different than poison.
From the Oxford English Dictionary, our Bible, Venom: a poisonous liquid injected by snakes and spiders.
We use the two words as synonyms. Sorry. I will have more care when using the two words.
That may be so, but they are not the same thing :)
Poison and venom looks the same in Portuguese.
Not poison Sckel, but venom. I assume that is what David is referring to. Venom is injected, while poison is ingested. Different modes of delivery. Most snakes and spiders are venomous, not poisonous.
The only family that has no poison, is the Uloboridae. Salticidae have poison, but are unable to cause us harm.
Hi Patty, Jumping spider are not poisonous...
It is a lovely spider. It has many eyes. It is hairy. Are jumpimg spider poisonous? Form I Purple
Woah! Are those all its eyes?! Nice series!
Very nice shot. That's one strange looking spider.
Hi AlexanderStein, The setting is ISO100, f16, 1/160. (if i'm remember correctly)
It’s looks like a diamond ring.. really very cute.
What camera settings did you use to capture this? (ISO, f/number, etc.) It's so clear!
Hee! Jumping spiders are so cute, and you got a really great shot of this one!
Hi GregMasteller, I'm using D90 and RAYNOX DCR-250 Macro Lens
Fantastic shot. Amazing little spider!
I'm Speechless this is beautiful!
Serious shiver mode on here.... great Macro well done
Hi brianbummers, It is kind of difficult to explain to you where I find it. As jumping spider moves around in the wild, all we need is a pair of sharp eyes.... but is really tough. :)
David, your photo was chosen to represent the new Spider mission! http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/6518529 I've added your spotting as the first inaugural submission to the mission.
