Description:
A wash of orange on stony surface. Two species growing as one! Wikipedia says Special pigments, such as yellow usnic acid, give lichens a variety of colors, including reds, oranges, yellows, and browns, especially in exposed, dry habitats.
Habitat:
Neora Valley. A pretty remote area in West Bengal, India
Notes:
Thank you, Brian. This time I kept my eyes open for lichen...I found loads...just like yo had said. For the first time I saw coloured lichens.
