About 3/8 inch. Rolls into a ball as a defense mechanism.

Habitat:

Found beneath bark of a rotting stump. Rural SW Pennsylvania

Notes:

Sometimes called a wood louse or, improperly, a sow bug (which is a different but similar critter).
