Field Notes

Description:

1/4 inch or so long. Front half of body and all legs/anteni are black. Back half is dark red, with black dots in the center. Beetle appears to have black, bumpy trim around it's body. Presumably adult as much smaller ones of the same desription were in the area. They are fast moving and do not fly.

Habitat:

Found on concrete sidewalk and surrounding bushes and bricks.
