Field Notes

Description:

Potentially Enterographa crassa, which has many forms... Or possibly some type of graphid lichen. Green thallus, black lirellae surrounded by white. There is also quite a bit of orange on it as well as on another lichen species I saw on this tree. The orange is either a part of the lichen or potentially it is a separate algae such as Trentepohlia sp. living on it but not as a part of the lichen.

Habitat:

On a tree covered in lichens near the trailhead of the Chassahowitzka Salt Marsh Trails in the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge
