Description:

This lichen was large, green, and extensively branched. It had a flat primary thallus with a secondary upright stalk, which forms a second thallus. The second thallus, which is called the podetium, is extensively branched.

Habitat:

Growing throughout a wet, mostly deciduous forest.

Notes:

Extracts from this species are able to kill leukemia cells in vitro, and may have possible value in treating cancer.
