Field Notes

Description:

Bunch of green fruits from a palm tree. seem succulent but no, 2-3cm thick skin on a round, hard seed. palm produces lots of seeds in bunches. Ripen from green to yellowish. bitter-like to tasteless (i tasted it as was curious if it is edible). Palm tree grows tall approx 8m, height of fruiting palms varies.

Habitat:

tropical/subtropical. pine savannah, scrubland

Notes:

though the fruits was not a treat for me, I saw the monkeys at the Belize Zoo feeding on the ripe palm fruits
