Description:
This beetle belongs to the Scarabaeidae family and reaches 18 cm according to the Guiness World Records Book, which makes it the largest beetle in the World (Probably with exception of Titanus giganteus). Its body is completely black and the horns are almost equal in lenght. The thoraxic horns are three (two small horns are held at each side of the pronotum). Only the male, as in almost all the members of the scarabaeidae family, have horns.
Habitat:
From the very humid montane rainforests of the oriental cordillera down to the Amazon basin.
