Description:

A 19.12 mm rutelinae beetle from the slopes of the Andes to the coast in Ecuador.

Habitat:

Very humid, high montane, rainforest

It is in the Buenaventura Scientific Station. Usually what I do is to use a "light trap" with a black light and a white sheet in the background to attract beetles. In one night you can see hundreds of thousands of insects coming to the black light traps and falling in the white sheet ... there are so much insects in the white sheets that sometimes you "breath" insects !!! That is why you are going to see a lot of white backgrounds in my pictures. I love black light traps. Best regards Desmond !
If it's in a rainforest than why does it have a white background?
