Field Notes

Description:

A crustose (disc) lichen with a cracked thallus. Gray with a light orange-tan hue. Apothicia: abundant black disc. 0.2 to 2 mm.

Habitat:

Found on exposed basalt in central Washington. Sagebrush steppe.
