Description:

Fluffy orange spore masses with tiny, red goblets that were only about 0.5 mm wide. Eventually, these goblet clusters will break open and release more spores.

Habitat:

Growing on rotting wood in a mixed forest.

Thanks Brian! I'm not sure, and have had a hard time finding much information about these slime molds. The wood I found this particular one on was so decayed that I couldn't identify it exactly, but I suspected a conifer.
Cool spotting Christine! I've looked for this species here in Washington but haven't found it. Do you know if it is associated with hardwoods or conifers?
