You are both right. I saw more today and got a better look. Thanks for the correction! I'll be posting more sightings today.
I agree with AshleyT - the white mark behind eye, white bar on wing, and very short tail look more like kinglet than gnatcatcher.
The identification is also made based on the call and movement, which I do not believe were that of a kinglet.
AshleyT, I've uploaded the individual photos. They are all of the same bird, I followed it from leaf to leaf and am sure. I believe it is the bird I've noted, not a kinglet.
Your bottom right photo is a ruby-crowned kinglet :) This is one good reason we ask that photos be upload with minimal editing. Please upload the originals and separate the kinglet to its own spotting, thanks!
