Antwerp's Alphabet of Genera
There are a few rules for this mission:
-You may post a picture of any living organism found in a radius of 80km from Antwerp.
-All pictures have to be "wildlife pictures". Pictures of pets, zoo and farm animals as well as pictures of house plants will be deleted.
-Organisms in the pictures have to be clearly recognizable. Unidentified organisms are not allowed.
-All pictures have to be taken during the time this mission is active. (from 05/13/13 until now.)
-We start with the letter A. You can post pictures of organisms of which the genus name starts with a letter that has already been posted or one letter further. E.g. when we are at the letter D, you may post pictures of organisms with an A, B, C, D or E, but not with an F, G, H, I and so on.
Our mission is accomplished when we arrived at the letter Z.
Every organism on Earth has a scientific name. This name consists of a genus name and a species name. E.g. in Homo sapiens (humans), Homo is the genus and sapiens is the species name.
In this mission we will try to find an organism for each letter of the alphabet. We will only use the genus name, so Homo sapiens counts for the letter H and not for the S. ( and of course pictures of humans are not allowed :-) )
Our final goal is to reach the letter Z.
