Over the past 60 years Britain has gradually lost 10 of it's native wildflower species. In recent years, wildflowers have been disappearing at the alarming rate of 1 species per year - so say the express.co.uk today 13th September 2012: http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/345719/-Drip-by-drip-loss-of-wildfl…

The aim of this mission is to collect data from every corner of the UK, to give us a better picture of what is happening. We greatly appreciate your help in this very important mission.

Please take any photographs you can of 'native species' (naturally occurring in the UK) and not 'introduced species' (not naturally occurring in the UK) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wildflower

Also, please do not include photographs of wildflowers you have grown from packets of seeds. If you have not seen a wildflower in your area before, then please say so under 'notes' when you upload your spotting. If you have lost a wildflower in your area, then please find a spotting that someone else has uploaded of that wildflower, and tell the mission in that comment box.

Although this is a serious mission, we hope you enjoy taking photographs and submitting your spottings. Happy snapping!
