Field Notes

Description:

This huge green grasshopper’s hood is bordered with yellow fringe. The tip of the antennae is yellow, followed by red and then green. It has bright white compound eyes. A small blue patch is visible just above the front legs. Length is 80 mm. From afar it looks like a leaf.

Habitat:

Spotted on a hill, near a row of flower pots. It was crawling very slowly.
