Description:

A middle instar nymph of a "giant shield bug" Lyramorpha sp. http://www.papua-insects.nl/insect%20orders/Hemiptera/Heteroptera/unide…

Habitat:

Spotted on "mother-in-law's tongue" in a large semi-urban yard and garden next to a disturbed remnant patch of forest in the equatorial tropics of northern New Guinea.

Notes:

Color is "off" in 4th photo...
