Plastic Pollution

Every bit of plastic ever made still exists somewhere in the world and the environmental impacts of plastic pollution are huge. A recently-released study, based on 2010 data, reports that we dump 13 million tons of plastic into our oceans every year. This same study ranks Egypt #7 worldwide of the worst offenders. Plastic debris is ingested by and kills marine and desert animals. It also chokes plants and leaks toxic chemicals into our groundwater.

The goal of this mission is to raise awareness about the effects of plastic pollution on wildlife, to make the problem more visible to everyone. Please share photos of plants and animals, both in the sea and in the desert, that are being damaged or killed by plastic debris. Whenever possible, please remove the plastic rubbish and dispose of it or recycle it properly.

Just say NO to disposable plastic!
